Finding suitable candidates for various project manager roles
The Challenge
Syzygy is an independent, specialist, renewable energy consultancy founded in 2010. They work with large commercial real estate owners and occupiers across the UK and Europe to help them navigate the path to net zero.
Syzygy were experiencing rapid growth and their existing recruitment process could not keep up with the demand for a variety of roles including consultants at all levels within their Project Management and Asset Management Divisions and Director level positions. Syzygy were using recruitment agencies, adverts and LinkedIn but finding that interview results were disappointing and quality of hires were not at their required level, as candidates did not share the company ethos.
The Result
Quarsh took up the challenge with a very open brief from the client. We conducted an audit to highlight the requirements of Syzygy and worked closely with the hiring managers to design a values and behaviours led competency based recruitment process. Quarsh produced all of the materials for this and sat in on interviews alongside the hiring managers for further support.
We have secured 15 hires for Syzygy in 6 months across a range of roles including; junior project managers, senior project managers and a finance director. This has increased the company headcount by 50%. The hiring sources utilised include referrals, Indeed and a LinkedIn strategy run by the team at Quarsh. Of the 38 candidates shared with Syzygy 35 were selected for interview. The average time to hire is 16 days. Using Quarsh as their complete recruitment and retention partner has saved Syzygy £38,000 in agency and other recruitment costs.
When we engaged Quarsh as a complete recruitment partner we gave a very open brief. Due to the rate of growth we were experiencing it was hard to identify exactly what roles the business needed at the time. I really value the flexibility of the team to support us with our requirements and the way they have risen to the challenges. The results have been outstanding; our hiring process and the breadth of candidates has vastly improved since Quarsh came onboard.
