Delivering an executive search where there is a choice of international locations

The challenge

The clients required two international searches based on specific criteria, identifying multiple potential European locations for the successful candidates.

The result

In the first instance, CooperVision, a renowned manufacturer of contact lenses, sought to recruit a European Head of Customer Service. The preferred locations were their offices in Frankfurt, Germany, and Southampton, UK.

In the second instance, JJS Manufacturing, a UK electronics firm, wanted to hire a Director of Purchasing, with the option of being based at their plant in Chomutov, Czech Republic, or their main UK site in Lutterworth.

For both roles, we built comprehensive shortlists in each location, aiming to find the strongest candidates. For CooperVision, we conducted Skype interviews with all longlisted candidates, resulting in a balanced final shortlist. For JJS, we interviewed candidates in both the Czech Republic and the UK to ensure direct comparability.

Each client then performed a series of assessments in both locations. Ultimately, CooperVision made a strong appointment in Frankfurt, while JJS appointed their successful candidate in Lutterworth.

We delivered two shortlists for each position without charging extra for the service. By ensuring consistent engagement and assessment of candidates, we effectively covered the potential talent pools in each location to the satisfaction of our clients, resulting in successful appointments in both cases.
